Vat Purnima 2021 is observed by hindu married women for her husbanhds long life and well being of the family .This is also known as vat savitri Vrat .

On the day of Vat Savitri married women should get up early morning have a clean bath and wear new clothes on that day.

On the auspicious t time, the pooja of the Banyan tree is made as follows.

five types of fruits,  kumkum , turmeric powder scented agarbati, lighted lamp, white thread dhoop, and prasad should be made to offer on that day.

a parikrama of the Banyan tree should be made three or seven times with the thread to be winded around the tree and listen to the story of Satyavan and Savitri.

fasting should be done on the day and fruits can be eaten on that day.

The History and Significance of Vat Savitri . King Ashvapati and Queen Malavi were childless for many years, they prayed to Devi Savitra who pleased with their Prayer blessed them with a baby girl. The King named the baby girl Savitri . Savitri lived a very holy and simple life. When Savitri grew up her parents asked her to find a suitable match for her marriage. Savitri set out to find a suitable husband for herself she decided to marry Satyavan son of exiled King Dyumatsenec. Savitri decided to marry Satyavan and told her father to get her married to Satyavan , but Narad Muni told Savitri's father that Satyavan is destined to die after one year, Savitri had already decided to marry Satyavan and as requested by her daughter the King married her to Satyavan, A year went by and Savitri Remembered the words of Narad Muni. on the destined date satyavan went out to cut tree in the jungle and Savitri followed him, the hot sun and a very hard climate Satyavan felt uneasy and fell on the ground and died. Savitri saw a very dark figure taking her husband away Yaam Dev told her that he had come to take satyavan with him. but Savitri was very determined she prayed to Yaam to please give her husband s life back but yaam told her not to follow him. Savitri was not ready to let her husband be taken by Yaam .seeing this Yaam told her she can ask for three boons but not her husband's life. The First boon Savitri asked for her father-in-law's eyesight. The second boon she asked for her father-in-laws' kingdom. The boon She asked yaam to bless her with 100 sons Yaam was in a dilemma but finally, he released her husband life and Savitri lived a very peaceful life with her husband.

वट सावित्री का इतिहास और महत्व। पूजा विधि।

वट सावित्री के दिन विवाहित महिलाओं को सुबह जल्दी उठकर साफ स्नान करना चाहिए और उस दिन नए कपड़े पहनना चाहिए।

शुभ मुहूर्त में बरगद के पेड़ की पूजा इस प्रकार की जाती है।

उस दिन पांच प्रकार के फल, कुमकुम, हल्दी पाउडर सुगंधित अगरबती, जला हुआ दीपक, सफेद धागे की धूप और प्रसाद चढ़ाना चाहिए।

बरगद के पेड़ की परिक्रमा तीन या सात बार करनी चाहिए और पेड़ के चारों ओर धागे को बांधना चाहिए और सत्यवान और सावित्री की कहानी सुनना चाहिए।

इस दिन व्रत रखना चाहिए और उस दिन फल खा सकते हैं।

राजा अश्वपति और रानी मालवी कई वर्षों तक निःसंतान थे, उन्होंने देवी सावित्रा से प्रार्थना की, जिन्होंने उनकी प्रार्थना से प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें एक बच्ची का आशीर्वाद दिया। राजा ने बच्ची का नाम सावित्री रखा। सावित्री ने बहुत ही पवित्र और सादा जीवन जिया। जब सावित्री बड़ी हुई तो उसके माता-पिता ने उससे उसकी शादी के लिए उपयुक्त वर खोजने को कहा। सावित्री अपने लिए एक उपयुक्त पति की तलाश में निकली और उसने निर्वासित राजा द्युमत्सेनेक के पुत्र सत्यवान से शादी करने का फैसला किया। सावित्री ने सत्यवान से शादी करने का फैसला किया और अपने पिता से कहा कि वह उसका विवाह सत्यवान से करवा दे, लेकिन नारद मुनि ने सावित्री के पिता से कहा कि सत्यवान की मृत्यु एक साल बाद होनी तय है, सावित्री ने पहले ही सत्यवान से शादी करने का फैसला कर लिया था और उसकी बेटी के अनुरोध पर राजा ने उसका विवाह सत्यवान से कर दिया, एक साल बीत गया और सावित्री को नारद मुनि के शब्द याद आ गए। नियत तिथि पर सत्यवान जंगल में पेड़ काटने के लिए निकला और सावित्री ने उसका पीछा किया, तेज धूप और बहुत कठोर जलवायु सत्यवान को बेचैनी हुई और वह जमीन पर गिर गया और मर गया। सावित्री ने अपने पति को दूर ले जाते हुए एक बहुत ही सांवली आकृति देखी, यम देव ने उससे कहा कि वह सत्यवान को अपने साथ लेने आया है। लेकिन सावित्री ने बहुत दृढ़ निश्चय किया कि उसने यम से अपने पति के जीवन को वापस देने की प्रार्थना की, लेकिन यम ने उससे कहा कि वह उसका अनुसरण न करे। सावित्री अपने पति को यम के हवाले करने के लिए तैयार नहीं थी। यह देखकर यम ने उससे कहा कि वह तीन वरदान मांग सकती है लेकिन अपने पति के जीवन के लिए नहीं। सावित्री ने सबसे पहले अपने ससुर की आंखों की रोशनी मांगी। दूसरा वरदान उसने अपने ससुर का राज्य मांगा। उसने यम से उसे 100 पुत्रों का आशीर्वाद देने के लिए कहा, यम एक दुविधा में था, लेकिन अंत में, उसने अपने पति के जीवन को छोड़ दिया और सावित्री ने अपने पति के साथ एक बहुत ही शांतिपूर्ण जीवन व्यतीत किया।
